Job Description

Sense is hiring a Senior Manager of Design to help us develop and grow our best in class product design organization. This role will be responsible for covering the full design process at Sense for our suite of products including Sense AI Recruiter, Workflows, Voice AI, Chatbot, Talent Intelligence, and CRM.


The ideal candidate will be a proven player-coach to take on design projects and also grow our design organization as Sense continues to scale. Your management style is leading by serving others, and your primary goal is the success of your team.

As a Design Senior Manager, you'll

  • Lead, mentor, and support our group of talented product designers to ensure the product we build for our customers meets their needs and is of the highest quality
  • Lead and execute on critical projects with a very hands-on approach alongside your team
  • Work with Engineering, Product, and Design team leads to develop the vision, strategy, and operations of your initiatives; advocating for our customers through user-centered design
  • Define and grow the design department, including recruiting and representing design through the Sense organization. Define processes to help us scale across our US and India offices.
  • Work side by side with founders and other members of leadership to define the next phase of our company growth
  • Interact with the marketing teams to oversee Sense brand activities
  • Build strong, trustful relationships with your team by fostering a positive environment where they are encouraged  to communicate openly, share constructive criticism, and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Speak with and become an expert on our customers

  • Design the future of AI-powered recruiting – Take the lead on designing our AI Recruiter and Voice AI experiences from the ground up. You’ll craft conversational interfaces that don’t just work — they delight, putting candidate experience at the heart of every interaction.
  • Build the voice of Sense – Literally. You’ll define how our Voice AI speaks, listens, and empathizes — transforming how candidates and recruiters connect in real time.
  • Redesign with purpose – While reimagining our conversational AI, you’ll shape how Sense Chatbot evolves as a platform to support smart, automated, human-first recruiting journeys.
  • Drive Sense’s next leap – Be part of our entry into a bold new market: large enterprise hiring. You’ll work on foundational product changes and research to help us scale to new customer needs — all while keeping conversations seamless and candidate-first.
  • Bonus: Collaborate closely with our brilliant marketing team to bring the new Sense brand to life through product and interaction design.


Job Requirement

About You

  • You have 10+ years of experience with at least 4 years in a leadership role
  • You have a strong track record of successfully managing and mentoring a team of senior-level designers, while shaping team management practices
  • You have experience in complex enterprise and SaaS products. Background in HR and Recruiting Tech is a bonus, but not required.
  • You have managed, hired designers and built out a design team across disciplines
  • You are able to swiftly navigate a company building a complex tool with many moving parts.
  • You have a demonstrable experience working on complex products wherein you contributed a significant business impact
  • You possess a strong grounding in both UX product design and solid visual skills to be able to manage end to end design at Sense
